We’re excited to announce that The Coeur d’Alene Resort has joined the world’s largest collection of “green hotels.”
TripAdvisor’s GreenLeaders program has just awarded The Resort a Silver level rating based on our recycling, water and energy efficiency, support of local businesses and a number of other sustainable practices.
The GreenLeaders Program recognizes hotels and B&Bs that engage in environmentally friendly practices, making it easier for travelers to find and book a greener stay. It’s interesting that this certification has appeal with a large number of potential guests. In fact, we’ve found that many groups will only travel to “green” hotels.
TripAdvisor developed this program with help from national and international green industry experts including the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED Certification Program, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR program, and other sustainability experts.
GreenLeaders is the largest ranking program of its kind. Properties do not pay to participate, and all findings are independently verified, unlike many other similar certifications.
