Widely regarded as the leader in unbiased ratings and reviews of the best golf destinations in the world, Golf Odyssey recently visited The Coeur d’Alene Golf & Spa Resort. Arriving unannounced and anonymously, the Golf Odyssey editorial staff, which prides itself in honesty, candor and independence, left the resort with high marks on their grading scale.
The April, 2013 Golf Odyssey, The Insider’s Guide to the Best in Golf Travel, left no doubt about The Coeur d’Alene’s dedication to providing one of the top destination resort experiences to discerning travelers worldwide. Topping the list of evaluation criteria was the simple picturesque lakeside settings offered at both the resort hotel and golf course.
“The resort is in northern Idaho’s panhandle, the part of the Gem State that would earn it a place in the finals of any American beauty pageant.” claims the article. “The Coeur d’Alene Resort took advantage of Mother Nature’s work by building a full-service retreat and one of the finest conditioned golf courses you will ever have the opportunity to play.”
The Golf Odyssey article, titled Coeur d’Alene Resort – Beyond the Novelty of the Floating Green, takes an academic approach to their service and facility grading systems. “For its combination of beauty, challenge, and uniqueness, this iconic floating-green one-shotter is unparalleled.” states the article, adding “The floating green is hardly Coeur d’Alene’s only highlight. In fact, the collection of the five par threes is noteworthy enough to grace the cover of a magazine.” Golf Odyssey distinguished the resort golf course with an A- grade, noting any golf courses in the “A” range are among the world’s finest and are not to be missed.
“To receive such high grades across the board for the golf course, hotel and our restaurants is an honor.”, noted The Coeur d’Alene Resort’s General Manager, Bill Reagan. “I still don’t know who the Golf Odyssey representatives were that visited the resort. I’m proud of our team for taking excellent care of our guests. They deserve all the credit. It’s part of our culture here… they pride themselves in making each guest experience the best it can be.”
