Golf Digest recently released their annual evaluation of “America’s Top 50 Courses for Women” in the July, 2013 issue. The Coeur d’Alene Resort made its début, ranking #20 on the exclusive list of resort and public golf facilities.
Golf courses around the country were evaluated by a panel of more than 100 women with special attention to programs for women, flexible playing options and progressive-design philosophy that treats women golfers as more than an afterthought. The Coeur d’Alene hit high marks for providing outstanding on-course service with their forecaddie program, having fabulous views and offering plush amenities.
“Offering seven different teeing ground options gives players of both genders, all ages and ability levels a golf course length suitable for their game.”, says Head Golf Professional, Andy Mackimmie. “The golf course was strategically designed to avoid forced carries and fairway bunkers when playing the golf course at less than 5000 yards… except, of course, at the floating green.”
“Several aspects of the resort golf experience are evolving.”, explains Mackimmie. “We’re always brainstorming for new programs and opportunities to bring families out to enjoy the game and a big part of doing so is building an attractive atmosphere for women to feel comfortable.” The resort has recently introduced a couples oriented 9-hole golf program called “Nine & Dine”, showcasing a more time sensitive option to enjoy a quick round of golf in the late afternoon with a nice dinner overlooking the lake. The all-inclusively priced Nine & Dine program runs from mid-July through the end of August.
