Local History Tours:

  • Historical Tour of Coeur d'Alene - "The City by the Lake". Discover the rich history and scenic beauty of Coeur d'Alene. Visit two fine museums. The museum of North Idaho and Fort Sherman are home to incredible photographs depicting the history of Fort Sherman, Coeur d'Alene Lake bustling with steamboat activity and the impact of the mining and timber industries. Next, you'll witness areas of early homes and landmarks, including Fort Sherman Chapel built in 1880. This tour is a fascinating cross-section of vintage buildings, churches and Victorian homes. This guided tour is very popular with first time Guests of the Resort.
  • Old Mission State Park & Gold Mine Tour - Idaho's oldest building, the Mission of the Sacred Heart, was constructed in the mid-1800's by members of the Coeur d'Alene Tribe and Jesuits. In addition to tours of the church and restored parish house, your Guests will visit the Interpretive Center to discover the impact of the Catholic missionaries on the settlement of the Northwest and the history of the region's Native American tribes.
  • Silver Valley Mine Tour - The Sierra Silver Mine Tour in the historic town of Wallace, Idaho is the silver capitol of the world and is the only tour of its kind in the Northwest. The tour offers a rare and exciting opportunity to personally experience the underground world of mining. Your Guests will be issued a hard-hat and board a trolley, venturing deep into the silver mines to explore history up close. Lunch will be served at the historic Jameson Hotel & Saloon.

Shopping Excursions

  • Antique Tour with Lunch - North Idaho is getting a reputation as the place to go to shop for antiques and collectibles. An expert will give a brief description of the various locations and what to expect from each shop as you are guided through each of the unique antique display areas. Enjoy lunch at The Coeur d'Alene Resort or at Bonsai Bistro on Sherman Avenue.
  • Customized Coeur d'Alene Shopping Tour - Our guides will provide shopping maps and direct Guests to the quaint shops of downtown Coeur d'Alene, just steps away from the hotel. At the end of the shopping day, meet back at the Resort for lunch at Beverly's.

Food & Wine Tours

  • Wine & Olive Oil Tasting - Journey to Coeur d'Alene Olive Oil to taste and create your own specialty recipe. The olives are harvested on family owned and operated groves. Next, you will go to Coeur d'Alene Wine Cellars for a tour of the grounds and enjoy a wine tasting with their staff. Your tour concludes at the famous Wine Cellar at Beverly's Restaurant at The Coeur d'Alene Resort. Their one million dollar wine inventory, one of the largest in the Northwest, will truly amaze you.
  • Pend Oreille Winery & Shopping Tour - Take a scenic drive north to the resort town of Sandpoint, Idaho. Shop at the Cedar Street Bridge complex featuring shops specializing in native related clothing, jewelry, gifts, furniture, bedding and collectibles. Your next stop is the Pend Oreille Winery for a relaxing wine tasting and tour. Nestled on the shore of Lake Pend Oreille, elegant and distinctive wines are maturing in oak barrels. The local owners base their craft on years of vintner experience.
  • Chef Demonstrations & Cooking Classes - Your Guests will sit back and relax while our chefs demonstrate the theme and/or cuisine of your choice. Options include chocolates of the world, signature dishes of Beverly's Restaurant, quick entrées to make at home, desserts to dazzle, fresh healthy and nutritional cooking, a taste of the Northwest, sausage making, smoking and grilling, all about huckleberries and sushi making with sake tasting.
