The Coeur d’Alene Resort and Top Tier Spirits Come Together

Coeur d'Alene Resort Custom Liquor Blends
You've likely heard of Maker's Mark Whiskey and Dry Fly Vodka at some point in time, but what about The Boardwalk Bourbon? Or Sunset Sipper?
Under "House Specialties" at The Coeur d'Alene Resort you'll find plenty of the bartenders' best-kept tricks and, best of all, one-of-a-kind custom-blended liquors.
When it comes to choosing liquor for The Coeur d'Alene Resort Guests, the talented food and beverage team says they don't believe in just picking a bottle off the shelf.
Partnership With Makers Mark and Dry Fly Distillery
Taking into consideration the look, smell, and, of course, the taste they carefully select what base liquors go onto the bar list. And how to do this to Resort standards? Blend your own. To elevate the Guest experience, The Coeur d'Alene Resort has started to create private barrels from distilleries near and far - partnering with top tier spirit brands like Maker's Mark and Dry Fly Distillery.
Beginning in 2018, members of The Coeur d'Alene Resort visited Maker’s Mark Distillery in Loretto, Kentucky, and have had the opportunity to create their blend as part of Maker’s Mark Private Select, a one-of-a-kind experience that allows invited retailers and restaurateurs to create their own Maker’s by aging bourbon in barrels containing their choice of oak staves.

Creation Of A Custom Blend
With 1,001 possible stave combinations, program participants can create a custom finish and flavor profile uniquely their own. The Resort team selected four types of staves for this year's custom blend:
- Baked American Pure, P2-1
- Seared French Cuvee, Cu-3
- Makers 46, 46-4
- Roasted French Mendiant, Mn-2
- Toasted French Spice, Sp-0
The result is a round whisky with light notes of dark cherry, candied pecans, and honey butter. The Resort is one of the longest-standing partnerships in North Idaho to have had this opportunity and now invites whiskey lovers to sample their unique creations year after year.
Dry Fly Distillery: New Custom Liquors
New to the custom liquors this year, Dry Fly Distilling out of Spokane, WA invited The Resort to participate in a similar program blending a whiskey and huckleberry vodka.
Dry Fly’s single barrel program features an extended aging, unique finishing, and proofs not found in their usual lineup. Dry Fly produces award-winning vodka, gin, whiskies, and bourbon using only locally grown grains and botanicals. Dry Fly embraces the "farm to bottle" approach, producing every drop of liquor it sells from only raw materials, grown locally by sustainable farms.

Dry Fly Peated Wheat Whiskey
This year The Resort team chose a very uniquely flavored Peated Wheat Whiskey to be The Coeur d’Alene Resort Barrel. This Whiskey has been aged 8 years and is lucky barrel #555.
Dry Fly Peated Wheat Whiskey has a mash bill of 90% Soft White Winter Wheat grown in Washington, 10% Imported Peated Malt from Baird’s Malting, finished in New American Oak from Independent Stave Company with original barreling proof of 120 Proof and 60% ABV. Barreled on 5/2/2014, Bottled on 7/1/2022, Final Proof 138.1
Huckleberry Vodka With Dry Fly
The Dry Fly Huckleberry Vodka starts as a soft, creamy-textured vodka made with 100% soft white winter wheat, delicious wild huckleberry syrup, and all-natural huckleberry flavoring to give it a bold flavor and bright color. Bottled at full 80 proof for superior cocktails to match every mood and will be served at bars in The Coeur d'Alene Resort.
