“We’re coming back!” Amy Smith promised. “My husband Joe and I had such a great time last year at the Coeur d’Alene Resort’s Hot Winter Nights that we decided to make it a tradition.”

The Tri-Cities couple trekked to Coeur d’Alene for a much-needed holiday detox that brightened the darkest days of winter. They left everything behind but each other as they escaped to The Resort’s heated infinity pool where they eased into the toasty water, marveled at the star-studded sky, sipped spicy seasonal drinks and reconnected in a way possible only when you have left your to-do list at home.

Hot Winter Nights was like a dream,” Spokane resident Erin Peterson said. “The vivid lights in the hot tub, music and twinkle lights made for such a festive atmosphere and looking up at the stars with the lake in the background was nothing short of magical.”

Big deal, you think, a weekend getaway? An outdoor hot tub?

Well, this is no ordinary hot tub.

The Resort’s engineering and facility magicians have transformed the infinity pool at The Resort Golf Course into one of the world’s largest manmade hot tubs. It takes a lot of BTUs to warm the 54,000- gallon pool to a comfortable 102 degrees, and the Resort’s gas boilers are up to it.

But none of that technical wizardry will be apparent to you or other guests. As you approach the otherworldly scene, you see twinkling white lights, a cloud of steam rising into the inky sky, six flickering gas fire towers and clusters of people luxuriating in the expansive infinity pool.

Wade on in and become one of those blissed-out folks soaking the giant tub — your hair curly, your face lit with tranquility.

When it’s time for a respite, bundle up in one of The Resort’s signature, luxurious terry cloth robes and wander to the warming tent for a specially crafted, winter-themed cocktail and snacks. Live music helps set a party scene.

“I was afraid I’d be too cold,” Erin added, “but access to the cabana to change was really convenient, and it gave us a chance to change back into our regular clothes for the drive back to the hotel. We stayed perfectly cozy, in spite of the chilly air.”

But there’s more – It’s kid time at the heated infinity pool from 4:00 – 6:00 pm when children of registered guests who have signed up for the package are welcome.

Erin attended The Resort’s Hot Winter Nights with her three boys.

“They thought they were in heaven! After being pent up inside all winter, their faces were pure joy when they realized they could swim outside again. They loved the music, too. I cannot wait to go back. We’ve been counting down the days until round two.”
