Bagel Sandwich Hub at Resort Plaza – The Coeur d’Alene Resort
There’s no place more synonymous with bagels than New York City, which is why Resort Chef, Casey Fassler, set out to bring a little bit of NYC to Coeur d’Alene. After conducting some serious research he quickly noticed the bagel scene is no joke, and much denser than popping rings of dough in the oven. Taking his own stab at the classic style boil and bake bagel, Chef Fassler and the Resort Team opened Lakeside Lox on March 4th in the Resort Plaza Shops. If his twist on classic NYC-Style bagels proves one thing, it’s that locals don’t have to fly across the country to snag an amazing bagel.
The new spot serves up fresh house-made bagels daily in flavors such as plain, everything, jalapeno-cheddar, and tomato asiago cheese. Cream cheeses range from plain to dill, chive, or cranberry. There’s also a signature “Rock My Lox Off” bagel sandwich made with traditional smoked salmon lox, dill cream cheese, fried capers, pickled red onion, and lemon zest. As for drinks, they proudly brew Starbucks Coffee.
Other dishes include Breakfast Bagels like the “Wakey Wakey Eggs and Bakey” featuring a stack of Applewood smoked bacon, fried egg, hash brown patty, and melty cheddar cheese. “The Texan” brings a southern twang to the menu with house-smoked brisket, cheddar cheese, chipotle aioli, and a fried egg. Playful options include the “Cutie Patootie” PB&J bagel and “Italian Stallion” pizza bagel. Grab and go classics like fruit and yogurt parfaits, ahi poke, quinoa salad, and fresh fruit and berry cups will fill the deli case. Lakeside Lox hours are from 7 am to 3 pm daily.
