Taphouse Unchained gets an upgrade! In addition to 24 rotating tap handles, Taphouse Unchained is now the new home to The Bottle Shoppe where Guests can get a beer poured in-house or to-go. Glossy new coolers are packed with top names in craft beer such as Pfriem, Fremont, Dogfish Head as well as local favorites like Daft Badger. With over 100 breweries represented, it would be difficult not to find something for everyone.
Not big on beer? Don’t fret, options are available from White Claw seltzers to Seattle Hard Cider. And with the ability to hold up to 250 bottles, more will come. Taphouse Unchained Manager and Cicerone Daniel Bentley personally sees to the bottle selection. He notes that most are from Oregon, Washington and Idaho as the Pacific Northwest has become a brewing mecca for the country.
Bentley strongly recommends Eel River Brewing Co.’s Hazy by Nature (a New England Style IPA), or Bale Breaker’s Sown and Grown if you’re looking for a more subtle IPA. Both are perfect for chasing down a Taphouse burger or pizza.
Here are some other pairings we suggest:
ABV 5.4% IBU 38
Pair this 2018 Mac & Cheese Festival 1st Place Winner with one of the bests from this Spokane Brewery. The slightly hazy and subtle hop aroma of this blonde is followed by notes of orange peel and honey.
Tuna Melt & Rogue Hazelnut Nectar Brown
ABV 5.6% IBU 33
This classic American sandwich requires a sultry partner, Bentley recommends this award-winning European brown ale with a rich nutty flavor and a smooth malty finish.
Huckleberry Ribs & No-Li Born Ready Citrus IPA
ABV 7.5% IBU 30
It is no coincidence that huckleberries and hoppy IPAs are Pacific Northwest staples. Barley, orange and pine are the perfect flavors to compliment Taphouse’s famous Huckleberry Ribs.
