Here at The Coeur d’Alene Resort, the holidays are a busy time. From untangling 1.5 million twinkling lights to nightly cruises across the lake to visit Santa, it’s an “all hands on deck” effort to provide the greatest guest experiences! Every January, we take a minute to catch our breath, enjoy the company of each other, and appreciate the hard work every employee put in. Our 2019 Employee Carnival was ‘Tailgate’ themed and was quite the competitive event!
All Resort employees were invited to a night of fun, food, and tailgate-themed festivities. Sports jerseys were encouraged attire- sparking friendly rivalries and alliances left and right. NFL jerseys, college gear, hockey jerseys and more colored the room and made for some great photobooth pictures!
There was plenty of tailgate food to fuel up on; hamburgers, hotdogs, mini sliders and more adorned the food tables. Perhaps the most delicious offering though was the Mac & Cheese Contest our chefs competed in. Piggybacking off the recent Mac & Cheese Festival that happened in downtown Coeur d’Alene a couple weeks earlier, our chefs whipped up their cheesiest creations for a Resort employee competition. It was creative and tasty; Chef Mark Bertram from Beverly’s Restaurant took home the prize (a royal noodle crown)! His white cheddar and smoked brisket mac & cheese egg roll was a crowd favorite.
No tailgate party is complete without cornhole. We held a cornhole competition for employees and their families. There was even a Floating Green Mini Putt Golf Hole for employees to put their skills to the test before golf season!
Brianna Robson, our wonderful Human Resources Director, reflected on the event, “This is such a wonderful event for the team to get together!”. Our Resort President, Bill Reagan said “A perfect employee is the one who inspires his boss as much as his boss inspires him. A huge shoutout to the entire team for being my inspiration for 2018. It was a wonderful year and I absolutely cannot wait to see what 2019 holds for us. Go team!”. We sure are lucky to have management that spoils us with this fun party every year. Now it’s time to get back to work!
