The Coeur d’Alene Continues to Impress Golf World Magazine Readers
The readers of Golf World Magazine have spoken, compiling results of their second annual national survey ranking each resort golf course based on a wide range of facility and service criteria contributing to the ultimate golf experience. Once tabulated, The Coeur d’Alene Resort continued to climb the charts up to No. 4 overall in America, honored once again with the 2010 Golf World Readers’ Choice Award.
“We have received outstanding ratings from both Golf Digest and Golf World Magazine over the years. This rating was submitted through a voluntary survey of readers, which gives us valuable feedback from a grassroots level of golfer… a people’s choice award if you will” said Jerry Jaeger, President and co-owner of Hagadone Hospitality. “This is a tremendous honor and a testament to every member of our hospitality team. The reputation of our entire organization is involved and I commend each and every individual for their tireless dedication to excellence.”
Bob Nuttelman, Director of Golf at The Resort golf course was quick to point out that only four states had more than one resort golf course in the top 20 ranking. “With our friends at Circling Raven, 30 minutes down the highway achieving a ranking of No. 19, North Idaho has a real claim as a national a hot spot for destination golf travelers.” Idaho joins a mix of impressive large-market golf states, accompanied by Hawaii, Florida and Georgia rounding out the other three states claiming multiple top 20 rankings.
This is the second consecutive year The Coeur d’Alene Resort has been recognized as a top 10 golf course by Golf World readership with over 45,000 golfers participating in the survey, reportedly more than twice the participation recorded in 2008. Thirteen distinct categories of evaluation criteria were used in the ranking process making this one of the most comprehensive rating systems used in the media today. Categories included - Quality of course, condition of course, reputation/prestige, practice facilities, speed of play, clubhouse, hotel accommodations, caddie program, food/dining, off-course amenities, service and overall value.
The recognition comes only one month after Golf Digest released their 2009 selection of “America’s Top 100”, ranking The Coeur d’Alene Resort Course No. 24.
“Coeur d’Alene is a big part of this too,” Jaeger said. “With all the other activities, shopping opportunities and our beautiful lake contributing to the success, the reputation and prestige is truly a reward for Coeur d’Alene as a community. We’re very excited about it.”
