Gluten-Free Menus at Dockside – The Coeur d’Alene Resort
I absolutely love to try new places to eat, both when I’m traveling and in my own hometown. I never want to order the same thing off the menu twice, because I want to experience any and all delicious food! But for those who are gluten-free or cannot eat gluten, it can be a challenge to find a restaurant with options that you’re able to eat.
As someone with a dietary restriction (I’ve been a vegetarian for six years) I know how hard it can be to find a place to eat that will have something available for you, especially for those who are living a gluten-free lifestyle. Imagine sitting down in a beautiful restaurant, smelling delicious food cooking in the kitchen and open the menu to realize there’s nothing you can eat. It can be exceptionally frustrating to watch friends and family order full, tantalizing meals, while you’re picking at a plate of lettuce and dressing, because nothing else is gluten-free.
One of the easiest ways to ensure you’re going to get a full, delicious meal is to go somewhere with a specific gluten-free menu. Not only can you choose from a variety of options, but it shows that the restaurant and staff are aware of the challenges of being gluten-free, and want to help!
One of my favorite restaurants with a gluten-free menu is Dockside Restaurant, on Lake Coeur d’Alene in North Idaho. If the view of the water and the amazing service don’t get you hooked, one glance at the gluten-free menu and you’ll be in heaven! From clams and crab to burgers and breakfast, this menu has it all! We don’t have time to cover the whole thing, but here are a few highlights:
The Dockside Classic Hamburger — served on a gluten-free bun, this meal is everything you want in a burger: flavorful, juicy and topped with amazing signature sauce. Or try the Piedmontese Farm Burger or the Turkey Avocado Melt for a new twist!
Artisan Omelets and Scrambles — from the Dockside BBIT (Best Breakfast in Town!) to the classic Denver Omelet, this portion of the menu has everything you need to start the day of right. Light, fluffy eggs, fresh veggies and golden hash browns will fuel you for a day of fun on the water!
Gluten-free Huckleberry Pancakes — no trip to Idaho is complete without a meal smothered in the famous huckleberry! These are picked from the mountains you can see from the Dockside dining room, and are always fresh and delicious!
